GOVERNOR UZODIMMA’S RE-ELECTION AND THE AGENDA OF RENEWED HOPE
To the people, hope is renewed when it takes breathe from responsibility and resolution, with promptings linked to needs anchored on the collective will of the people. The will of Ndi Imo here is premised on the account of Renewed Hope and the re-election of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State.
It is the zeal in renewed hope that makes political dialogue and interests garner support because they are required in attracting engagements for the realization of the dreams in renewed hope.
When a good man brings his good moral convictions into political or public life there is no threat to democracy or the rule of common good. Common good is a product of moral engineering that is designed to address the concerns of the people; it is projected to serve as the necessary developmental guide to direct political considerations where justice holds the score sheet.
And where truth reigns, political considerations that are meant to sustain projections for the people’s common good cannot be subjected to manipulations for reasons of inordinate political incisions on power. Sometimes to strengthen commitment, continuity is allowed to amalgamate conception and completion as a loop of immersed acceptance.
In the last three years and some months, the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, has pulled the state out of major infrastructural quagmire and stagnation through His 3R Mantra of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery. The efforts have today rolled into inducement signature that is contributing to guarantee his re-election on Saturday, 11 November, 2023, in few hours from today.
This will materialize into a resounding acceptance by Imo people and approval of his Renewed Hope agenda and the shared prosperity imperatives.
Renewed Hope agenda is adopted from the 3R Mantra with enlarged scope that incorporates extensive lists of sustainable human and developmental based considerations for the common good of Ndi Imo.
I admit that this election and the re-election of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma will calm nerves down and redirect energy to building of a better Imo State. I believe that interests will be realigned for all to see confrontation and insecurity as a common enemy. Insecurity is like a demonic cannon that explodes to kill the device setter, it has no control and acts like a whirlwind. It is like infectious plague, and those who harness its pus are infected in its spread. In truth, insecurity brings no good and should be avoided.
The second term of the administration of His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, as Governor of Imo State, will be a time of consolidation, a period of rebuilding and renewing Imo State along the line of rejuvenation in concrete stand of faith in Imo State. Those who have shown presence and support in the propagation of Renewed Hope programme represent Imo collective reality, they are part of Ndi Imo making the call for total return to brotherhood that is the fundamental strength in Igbo unity. It will be a period for peace and truce that will mend all fractured feelings; it is a fundamentally rewarding Renewed Hope agenda.
The Imo Charter of Equity will take a focal position and the calculations involved, seen as a pleasing pack will enhance harmony and inclusiveness. When it is rolled out those who were skeptical in the beginning will be willing to beat the drums for inclusion as a matter of right. To buttress his command of faith here, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State, at a recent Owerri Zone Women and Youth rally stated, “I reiterate my commitment to the implementation of the Charter of Equity, ensuring that power is handed over to Owerri Zone at the end of my second tenure. This commitment stems from my belief in fairness and the equitable development of our beloved state.” This is the commitment that is presented in good faith to assuage rumbling nerves; it is the commitment that will set Imo State to align with mutual understanding and harmony.
Ndi Imo from Owerri zone are keying into this prospective adventure meant to reposition fairness as a graceful equity. Many solidarity groups from Owerri Zone, including Ezuruezu Mbaise and Nzuko Ndi Owerre have added their agreements in support of the Imo Charter of Equity. Imo State is poised to get it right through His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State. This is an important part of the Renewed Hope agenda.
No doubt, road works across the state will continue and clamour for attention from local government areas will rise. In the course of the campaigns that got the Governor traverse roads that will require attention, the close assessments resulting from these journeys presented a deeper appreciation that will be taken into consideration in the Renewed Hope agenda.
The next level of shared prosperity in Imo State is projected to attract progress because it will be weaved around support of Ndi Imo and the impressive positions of our Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, as the Chairman of Southeast Governors and the Chairman of All Progressives Congress(APC) Governors in Nigeria. He is positioned to attract partnership and enhanced favour to Imo State from the Nigerian APC led government at the national level.
A major industrialization outlook is in the horizon with the proposed charting of the Oguta Lake to the Atlantic ocean. There is a bulge of success here with the readiness of the hydrographic and the comprehensive bathymetric and the investigative survey that will present the roadmap to actualization of the dredging of the lake to the Atlantic Ocean.
Imo state is blessed with gas deposits and the dredging of Oguta Lake to the Atlantic ocean will increase harnessing of gas deposits along the coast of Oguta lake and create jobs for Imo youths. In the end Imo State will serve as the economic hub of Imo State, South East and Nigeria in general. This is an important part of Renewed Hope agenda.
Other considerations include the ongoing Imo youths Skillup programme and many more.
The needs roped around the agenda of Renewed Hope may be enormous; the determination that is wheeling them has the support of God. The next four years will stamp Hope on the consciousness of our people for believing in the good works of His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State. The mandate of Ndi Imo comes with hope and support laced with the threads of prayers that will guide our Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma. In all, success comes through collective effort; we are ready.
