Igbo Community Sokoto Day 2022 , His Royal Highness Eze Charles Ejemaka,  Ogba Aka Ari Oji, and the traditional ruler of Ubulu Autonomous Community in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State honoured the day and performed the traditional role of breaking of kolanut.

Sunday, 27 November, 2022, was a faithful day, a cultural day to remember in Sokoto for the Igbo Community in Sokoto State as His Royal Highness, Eze Charles Ejemaka graced the occasion that took place at the Immigration Command facility in Sokoto as one of the fathers of the day. His Royal Highness, Eze Charles Ejemaka, Ogba Aka Ari Oji is the traditional ruler of Ubulu Autonomous Community in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State. He is an accomplished business man in Sokoto and has built fruitful friendship across the strata of the good people of Sokoto State. He grew and developed his accommodating strength from living in Sokoto as a young man and that has propelled his ascension to the position he occupies today. The Igbo Community Sokoto Day 2022 served as his first official outing in Sokoto since his installation as an Igbo-land traditional ruler that embraced Igbo tradition in its totality. He used the occasion to bless the community and perform the traditional breaking of kolanut as a mark of demonstration of the wholesomeness and sacredness of Igbo tradition and culture must be held supreme and should not be diluted irrespective of place and situation. His Royal Highness,  Eze Charles Ejemaka, Ogba Aka Ari Oji after prayers over the people and kolanut placed a handsome pledge in support of Igbo Community endowment project.

His Royal Highness Eze Charles Ejemaka was accompanied to the Igbo Community Sokoto Day 2022 celebration by some members of Igbo Chiefs and Elders Forum Sokoto; those present were: Chief Mike Okaro, Chairman of the Forum, Patron Chief Goodwill Egesi, Chief Sylvester Emeaguboh, Chief Paul Obi Oforkansi, Engr [Chief] Julius O. Dike, Hon Chief Emmanuel Okereke,  Chief Berechi  Emeziri, Chief Christopher Nwanja, Chef Alloy Ezeri, Chief  Wilfred Anikputa and many others.

His excellency, Hon Aminu Waziri Tanbuwal CFR, the Executive Governor Sokoto State honoured the occasion. He was represented by Hon Akibu Dalhatu, Hon Commissioner for Information in the State. In his address the Governor extolled the community effort in industry and mutual cooperation, and in building community friendliness. He pledged and placed a good support on the community endowment project.

His Eminence, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar 111,Sultan of Sokoto, who served as the Royal Father of the Day was represented by Alh Muhammadu Jabbi Harande, the Ardon Shuni. In his address the Eminence promised to stand for the community in her peaceful nature as a people who are truly involved in living in peace in Sokoto State.

The former Executive Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency, Alh[Dr.] Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, Garkuwan Sokoto, was represented by his son, Hon Sagir Bafarawa, who is contesting as the PDP Deputy Governorship candidate in Sokoto State in the 2023 elections.

And the former Executive Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,  was represented by Hon. Barr Bello Goronyo.

Also present to grace the occasion was Mal Sai’du Umar FCNA [Malam Ubandoma] who is running for the position of Governor of Sokoto under PDP in the 2023 elections.

Other dignitaries that graced the day were Comrade Aminu Umar Ahmad [Maxxiar], Labour Party Governorship candidate in Sokoto and  Hon Barr Alhaji Maidawa, Member, Sokoto House of Assembly Representing Shagari Constituency.

Chief Ifeanyi Ezeagu [Ifeanyi Health] OBI-DATI Presidential Coordinator for Sokoto State honoured the occasion with jubilant funfair to the admiration of the community.

In his welcome address

the President General of Igbo Community Sokoto, Onwa Chief Donald Chukwu expressed consensus appreciation and gratitude of Igbo Community Sokoto to the government and good people of Sokoto for the support and impressive accommodation the community is enjoying in Sokoto State. In all the celebration was a successful one.
